Project Information The Great Rivers Greenway District provided matching funds with the Danforth Foundation to develop a comprehensive plan for the St. Louis Downtown riverfront. The planning area for this study is the Mississippi Riverfront between the Eads and Poplar Street bridges. Status: The planning process was started in 2005. Over the next two years several riverfront redevelopment options were researched but each one presented its own engineering challenges. Partner(s): City of St. Louis; National Park Service; Danforth Foundation;Metro; Downtown St. Louis Parntership; U.S. Corps of Engineers; and the U.S. Coast Guard.
