  • A Scenic Beauty, the Rock Hollow Trail, Opens

    The City of Wildwood and Great Rivers Greenway formally opened a spectacularly scenic 2.3 mile paved trail that descends steeply from near Manchester and Old State Road in West county southward through Wildwood to the Meramec River. The trail entry sign is adjacent to the parking lot at Ridge Meadows Elementary School, 777 Ridge Road, Ellisville. The ribbon cutting ceremony was held May 27.

  • St. Peters, Great Rivers Greenway Will Open 2-Mile Trail in Dardenne Greenway on September 10

    The City of St. Peters and Great Rivers Greenway will celebrate a two-mile addition to the Dardenne Greenway at a ribbon-cutting on Friday, September 10. The northern end of the new trail is at Mexico Road, where an underpass connects to an existing short trail following Dardenne Creek northward to St. Peters Golf Course.

  • City of St. Louis, Great Rivers Greenway, and St. Louis ArtWorks Team Up to Energize St. Vincent Greenway

    Planning for construction of the 1.8 miles of the St. Vincent Greenway in the City of St. Louis is in full swing. The route will begin at the Dennis and Judith Jones Visitors Center in Forest Park and travel north along a reconfigured DeBaliviere Avenue, where a “road diet” will eliminate the current northbound lanes and convert them to greenway and bike trail. These blocks also would share the right-of-way with a proposed Loop Trolley Company streetcar that would travel through the Loop.

  • New Bike St. Louis Maps Popular, Jefferson Avenue Re-Construction Completed

    The 2010 edition of the Bike St. Louis map has been distributed to bicycle organization partners, bike shops, the Convention and Visitors Commission, and other locations. The need to reprint the popular map this year provided an opportunity for several art improvements this year. Obtain the latest and greatest version at your local bike shop, or at St. Louis, Clayton, or Maplewood City Halls, among other locations.

  • Ferguson Opens Future Trailhead for Maline Greenway

    The City of Ferguson revealed its donor wall at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 15, as it opened a civic plaza and permeable parking lot that will serve as a future trailhead for the Maline Greenway. Great Rivers Greenway has initiated concept planning for the Maline Greenway, which will follow the creek of the same name from NorthPark east to the Mississippi River.

  • Featured Map - Centennial-St. Charles Project Nears Completion

    A portion of the Centennial Greenway trail in St. Charles County is nearing completion. This useful trail from the parking lot for the Katy Trail on the St. Charles County side of Highway 364 (Page Avenue Extension) provides a way for cyclists to safely navigate to the south side of 364 and will end on the east side of Highway 94 at the Cribbin’s Home/Heritage Center being developed by the St. Charles County Parks Department.

  • Construction Begins on Next Leg of St. Vincent Greenway

    A new segment of St. Vincent Greenway will skirt the side edge of the UMSL soccer field, enter a fringe of intact woods, pass by a wooded bird sanctuary and under the MetroLink line, and offer easy access across University Place Drive to the Express Scripts buildings located there.
